NASA releases new Android app free for download
NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has released a free official NASA application for Android designed for users to keep track of all the latest happenings and news from NASA.
The user can access several features such as official images , videos, mission information, news, NASA TV and featured content with the new NASA App for Android. Images have been provided by NASA IOTD (Image of the Day), APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day) and NASAImages.org.
The NASA App for iPhone and iPad has been a phenomenal success with over five million downloads so far, said Jerry Colen, NASA App project manager at NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. Making a version of the NASA App for Android has been the number one request from users. We are delighted to fulfill this request and put NASA's amazing content into the hands of millions of Android users around the world.
The NASA App for Android also showcases a huge collection of various NASA content such as videos on-demand, live streaming video from NASA Television, mission information, feature stories and breaking news. Users also have the opportunity to track the current positions of spacecraft currently orbiting Earth. App users can easily share NASA content with their friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.
The App is also available for iPhone and iPad in HD.
