'Nashville' Season 3 Spoilers: Are Avery And Scarlett Getting Back Together? Jonathan Jackson Teases Reunion
“Nashville” Season 3, episode 2, revealed that Avery (Jonathan Jackson) is the father of Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) baby, so it might seem logical that the two would get back together. But it seems that Avery might go running back to his ex-girlfriend Scarlett (Clare Bowen), TV Guide reports.
"[With] what he's going through with Juliette, there's a natural instinct to gravitate toward Scarlett," Jackson said. "Their relationship-slash-friendship ... runs fairly deep."
Last season on “Nashville,” Scarlett was a source of jealousy for Juliette while they were on tour. Avery was working on Scarlett’s album before she left Rayna’s label. However, Juliette constantly worried about their relationship. She was even jealous when Scarlett had a breakdown that put her in a mental hospital.
This season, Scarlett seemed to reconnect with her other ex-boyfriend Gunnar (Sam Palladio) in episode 2, but she made it clear that she wasn’t ready to write songs with him again. It seemed like she wanted to focus on herself in both her professional and personal life, but that might not stop Avery from at least trying to get back together with his ex.
Avery has been seriously hurt in the last couple of episodes. He has been drowning his sorrows in alcohol, and any time he has seen Juliette, they ended up screaming at each other. When a new waitress (Erin Naifeh) at the Bluebird Café hits on Avery, he didn’t seem interested in her. However, when she mentioned that she couldn’t compete with Juliette, Avery immediately kissed her. It seems like Avery will take any girl who isn’t Juliette at this point.
Of course, Juliette hasn’t told Avery about the baby yet. First fans will have to see how he handles the news. He could be leaning on Scarlett for support rather than romantic reasons.
“Nashville” Season 3 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Do you think Avery will actually get back together with Scarlett, or will they stay friends? Sound off in the comments section below.
