'Nashville' Season 3 Spoilers: Will Scarlett and Gunnar Reunite? Twitter Photos From First Day On Set
Scarlett and Gunnar fans have something to look forward to when Season 3 of "Nashville" premieres. After spending most of last season separated, Gunnar’s portrayer, Sam Palladio, thinks the two might be getting cozier in the upcoming season.
“The fans love the two characters together and I’m sure that they will in one way or another come back together at least as musical partners,” Palladio told Metro.
Last season, Gunnar and Scarlett had some trouble working together. Scarlett could barely sing with him for Kelly Clarkson, who wanted to record one of their songs.
At the end of Season 2, they sang together and seemed to be at a place where they could finally be friends. That song, “It Ain’t Yours To Throw Away” was written by Gunnar to show Scarlett how much he still cared for her.
“We start working on series three this week -- they haven’t released any scripts yet so I’m really interested to see where we pick up after that scene,” Palladio said.
The actor hinted the pair will likely come back together to write songs in Season 3.
“I think the two characters have had a deep connection that music is the catalyst of,” he explained. “So no matter what happens in their personal lives, when they come together and sing, that spark gets ignited again.”
Clearly, fans love the music Palladio and Clare Bowen (Scarlett) make together. Their duet from Season 1, “I Will Fall,” remains the bestselling original song from “Nashville,” according to iTunes. The two even got together to perform a cover of Motley Crue’s “Without You” for “Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Motley Crue,” which comes out on Aug. 19. The fan favorite couple would probably be a great choice for the show’s live premiere in September, but no announcements have yet been made.
“Nashville” won’t return to ABC until Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. EDT, but the cast and crew are sending out plenty of sneak peeks of social media.
