A UFC veteran coach said that Manny Pacquiao will beat Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather and Terrence Crawford.
Richard Perez has been coaching UFC star Nate Diaz for quite some time. As a seasoned fighting coach, Perez was asked to comment about who deserves to be called “The Fighter of the Decade.” In a recent interview with Elie Seckbach of EsNews, Perez was asked to pick between Pacquiao, Mayweather and Mexican brawler Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. According to him, Pacquiao is the only fighter who deserves the title as he literally rose from the bottom to the top.
“Pacquiao. He’s a bad dude. He started from the bottom all the way up,” Perez said about Pacquiao as his Fighter of the Decade.
In a different interview, Perez once again hailed Pacquiao but this time, as the “greatest fighter of all time.” As per the veteran coach, the Filipino legend continues to defy the laws of time and still manages to dismantle his opponents inside the ring.
“He’s just keep coming and coming and throws combinations and I mean he catches people. He’s sharp. And he’s still fighting,” Perez said of Pacquiao.
When asked who among McGregor, Mayweather and Crawford should Pacquiao fight next, Perez cannot pick one but he is convinced that the eight-division title holder will “beat them all.”
“There’s so many out there but I believe he’ll beat them all,” Perez stated.
Gareth A. Davies, a boxing columnist for The Telegraph who also presents for talkSport and BT Sport, believes that a Pacquiao vs. McGregor fight is "viable" this year. He also estimated that the said blockbuster fight between two combat sports legends could generate a whopping $250 million.
As for Team Pacquiao, Sean Gibbons, one of Pac-man’s advisers, addressed what’s ahead of the Filipino champ. According to Gibbons, Pacquiao could be back in the ring by April and both McGregor and Mayweather are within the team’s radar, The Sun reported.
“The Senator is looking to return in April of this year. As per a fight with the Senator and Conor McGregor, Conor has mentioned it a few times and if there was interest from the fans the Senator would consider the fight
for sure,” Gibbons said.
“Floyd Mayweather put it out himself in an interview that he is coming back in 2020 and one of the fights will be the Senator,” Gibbons continued.
To this day, an array of fighters from both MMA and boxing are still yearning for a chance to share the ring with Pacquiao. Fortunately, the Filipino legend has not displayed any hint of calling it a career thus far.
