Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk ‘Con Man’ Web Series To Air On Syfy
Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk’s upcoming web series has finally found its home!
According to TV Line, the duo’s “Con Man” web series will air on Syfy for two seasons. The upcoming project will also serve as Fillion and Tudyk’s reunion since starring in “Firefly.” “Con Man” is loosely based on the careers of Fillion and Tudyk’s characters post-“Firefly.”

In the series, Fillion will play the role of Jack Moore. The character goes on to become an actor. Tudyk, on the other hand, will give life to Wray Nerely, a former sci-fi celebrity who revisits his glory days in the convention circuit. In “Firefly,” Fillion played the role of Malcolm Reynolds, while Tudyk played Hoban Washburne.
Earlier this year, Fillion and Tudyk spoke with The Mary Sue about “Con Man” and dished on whether or not it will take inspiration from “Firefly.” “No, not at all. But we’ve all had jobs and we’ve all wondered if we’re doing the right thing with our career. We’ve all had a direction we’ve wanted to go in and wondered if we’re doing the right thing. And we just multiplied that for Wray to make it more entertaining for the rest of us,” he explained.
“Con Man” is slated to premiere on Syfy sometime in September.
Meanwhile, other than his role in the web series, Fillion has also been cast in “A Series of Unfortunate Events” Season 2. According to TV Line, Fillion’s character is still being kept under wraps, but there are speculations that he will give life to the role of Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton). As of late, Netflix and Fillion have not yet confirmed or denied the rumors.
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” tells the fictitious tale of siblings Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny (Presley Smith) Baudelaire, who lost their parents in a mysterious fire. The first season of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” premiered on Jan. 13, and it consisted of eight episodes. Two months later, the Neil Patrick Harris-starrer was picked up for a second season.
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” Season 2 will stream on Netflix sometime next year.
