With Thanksgiving just around the corner, National Cake Day gives sugar fanatics the perfect opportunity to satisfy their sweet tooths. Each year, on Nov. 26, 24 hours are dedicated to one of America’s favorite desserts.

Although much isn’t known about the origins of National Cake Day, the history of cake can be traced back to ancient times, specifically to Egypt in Greece.

Whether it is chocolate, carrot or ice cream cake, Americans can’t seem to get enough of the fluffy dessert.

4. Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
