National Daiquiri Day 2020: 4 Best Recipes For Delicious Rum Drinks
July is the perfect time to cool off with a cocktail, so it’s convenient that National Daiquiri Day falls on July 19. Check out some easy drink recipes to enjoy this glorious holiday at home.
BACARDÍ Lime Frozen Daiquiri — This recipe, courtesy of BACARDÍ, keeps it simple and citrusy.
- 2 parts BACARDÍ Lime Flavored Rum
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- 3/4 parts simple syrup
- lime zest
- lime wheel
Simply add all the ingredients to a blender with 2 cups of ice and blend until it’s smooth. Pour into a glass and garnish the daiquiri with a lime wheel.
Cranberry Daiquiri Slush — Ocean Spray has a recipe that isn’t your typical drink. Instead, this is a “slush,” a great frozen option for those without a blender.
- 2 cups Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
- 1/3 cup rum
Using an 8-inch square non-metal pan, combine all ingredients. Stir the mixture in the pan until the sugar dissolves. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and freeze for at least six hours. To serve, scrape a fork over the surface and spoon a heaping cup into a large class. Top off with a little more cranberry juice cocktail.
Passion Daiquiri — Mount Gay uses their “robust and bold” Black Barrel rum for this recipe, and the Cointreau adds an extra kick.
- 2 oz Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- .5 oz passionfruit syrup (we use small hand foods)
- .5 oz Cointreau
Just shake all the ingredients together with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. A lemon wheel or peel makes a great garnish.
Malibu Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri — It’s a classic because it’s delicious, and this easy cocktail recipe adds some strawberry-flavored rum for an even fruitier taste.
- 1 part Malibu Strawberry
- 2/3 part fresh lime juice
- 1/3 part simple syrup
- 1/3 part strawberry puree
Toss all ingredients in a blender with a scoop of crushed ice, and serve in a glass.
Though Sunday is National Daiquiri Day, cocktail lovers might want to keep their blenders and shakers out. National Tequila Day is just five days away on July 24.
