National Doctors' Day is marked annually on March 30 to appreciate physicians everywhere.
The holiday was first commemorated in 1933 in Winder, Georgia, to mark the first anniversary of a doctor using ether anesthesia during surgery. It was introduced by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond. The day was later signed into law by former President George H. W. Bush who then designated Doctors' Day a national holiday on Feb. 21, 1991.
