National Donut Day 2020 Freebies: 10 Places To Get Free Donuts June 5

If there’s anything that could probably bring up people’s spirits as they continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, it’s free food—especially delicious free food like donuts. Luckily, for those in need of that pick me up, June 5 is National Donut Day!

On Friday, restaurants around the country will offer some deals and specials in honor of the holiday, and the celebration isn’t just meant to honor deep-fried dough covered in all kinds of sugars and frostings. The day actually honors the Salvation Army Donut Lassies, who made fresh donuts for American soldiers during World War I.

So if a donut is something that you really want this weekend, stop in at one of these locations below for a special treat.

• Dandee Donut Factory: While this Florida chain doesn’t appear to be offering a freebie, according to the Pompano Beach location’s Facebook page, each store will create their own custom flavors that will be available for one day only.
• Da Vinci’s Donuts: The Georgia chain is actually offering either a free donut or donut card for later use for the entire weekend, June 5-7.
• Duck Donuts: The chain is offering Rewards members a free Cinnamon Sugar donut from June 5-7.

• Dunkin Donuts: Everyone can celebrate donuts and coffee at Dunkin, where they can pick up a free donut with any beverage purchase.

• The Heavenly Donut Company: This Birmingham, Alabama restaurant is offering free Glazed or Blueberry donuts all day and will be sweetening the deal even more for Active Duty Military and Veterans, who will also receive a free coffee.
• Krispy Kreme: The chain actually got an early start on the celebrations and began offering free donuts on June 1 for what they decided to call “National Doughnut Week.”

• LaMar’s Donuts: The company has partnered with the Salvation Army to give free donuts to hospital workers in honor of National Donut Day.
• Mighty-O Donuts: This Year, Mighty-O Donuts will be donating 10% of all sales on National Donut Day to their own essential employees.
• Randy’s Donuts: Stop into locations on June 5 and get a free bag of Buttermilk Bites.
• Shipley Do-Nuts: With any purchase on National Donut Day, get a free glazed donut.
