National Fudge Day is celebrated every year in the United States on June 16 so dessert lovers could indulge in the delicious confectionery guilt-free and share it with their friends and family.

In the United Kingdom, fudge is prepared from just sugar, cream, and butter, whereas in the U.S., chocolate is added to it. Apart from chocolate, fudge is also available in a variety of flavors such as peanut butter and maple.

The origin and history of the confectionery are not clear. While the Americans claim that it was their invention, some believe that it was first prepared in Scotland in the 18th century. Irrespective of its origin, people all around the world enjoy eating it.
