Many agree that prom or promenade dance is one of the most significant times of the year for a teenager. Dressing up, socializing, following school traditions, etc. are opportunities for teenagers to improve their self-esteem. However, before we reach the night of the prom, there is the exciting promposal everyone looks forward to.

On this occasion, students take complete liberty to dress to the nines, engage in unrestrained fun, and, most importantly, make memories for a lifetime. Students wait for this day all year, more so because it provides the opportunity to ask their crush out or score a proposal.

National Promposal Day, which is celebrated on March 11, is the special day designated for over-the-top proposals, and perhaps to expect a "yes." The term "promposal" truly represents the essence of the day and ups the ante of the event.

Here are some ways you can use to ask her to prom while rendering her impressed: (Courtesy: Cosmopolitan)

  • Hide a note in a box of donuts that says: "I donut want to go to prom with anyone but you."
  • Buy her chicken wings and then say: "I’m just going to wing it! Will you go with me?"
  • Have a pizza delivered to her doorstep and then call to say: "I know this is cheesy, but will you go to prom with me?"
  • Get the girl her favorite juice blend and ask: "Will you stick with me at prom?"
  • Gift them a box of pretty highlighters and slip a note that says: "It would be the highlight of my year to go to prom with you."
  • Throw a football their way with a note that reads, "Glad you caught me. Prom?"
  • Write a cute poem to your Disney-loving bae that rhymes: "Mickey needs Minnie. Tigger needs Pooh. And I need to go to prom with you!"
  • Buy a stuffed lion, or dress up as one for that matter, and say loudly: "I'd be lion if I said I didn't want to go to prom with you."
  • "Pop" the question with a promposal note written inside a balloon.
  • Get custom cookies made with your proposal. Make sure it has the answer option.
