National Sandwich Day Freebies 2018: Free Food, Discounts And Coupons For Restaurants

The beginning of November gives people the opportunity to start the countdown to Thanksgiving, but before you dream of carving into that turkey, try reaching for one of the most popular dishes in America. National Sandwich Day recognizes the creation of two slices of bread stacked with layers of a desirable filling.

Although much isn’t known about the origin of the day, there are a few stories about how the meal was created. In most cases, the credit often goes to John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich. One theory suggests Montagu frequently requested two slices of bread with meat in between them. Eventually, people began to order the same dish by asking for “the same as Sandwich,” according to NationalCalendarDay.com.

Despite the unconfirmed tale, the sandwich still exists and each Nov. 3, its tasty greatness is honored across the nation. This year, restaurants will celebrate the day with an array of promotions, free sandwiches, discounts and other deals.

This Saturday, foodies will have a chance to cash in on Schlotzsky’s big BOGO deal. Customers who buy one medium sandwich will get one free. Guests can also ask for “double the meat” on their sandwich for only $2.00 more.

Subway

Starting Saturday until Friday, Nov. 9, guests will have the opportunity to get a hero while being a hero. With every purchase made on the Subway App and Subway.com, the sandwich chain will donate a meal to Feeding America.

Jersey Mike’s

In honor of National Sandwich Day, Jersey Mike’s email club members will receive a coupon for $2 off any regularly priced sub. The offer will also be shared on Facebook for non-members and valid from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6.

The restaurant will continue its recognition of sandwiches all November by celebrating National Sub Month. During this time, the company will hold contests, Monday through Thursday, each week on social media where food lovers can win a variety of prizes including T-shirts and gift cards.

Potbelly

On Saturday and Sunday, guests will have the opportunity to get a free salad or sandwich with the purchase of a Potbelly kids’ meal.

Quiznos

The popular sandwich chain will offer customers the opportunity to buy any 8-Inch Sub for $5 on National Sandwich Day. While Toasty Points Loyalty App members will receive the promotion in advanced, non-members will have to access the coupon online in order to cash in on the deal.

McAlister’s Deli

On Saturday, guest can order the signature McAlister’s Club Sandwich for only $4. The offer is valid for dine-in, app, online and call-in orders. Those who download the McAlister’s Deli app will be able to take advantage of the $4 McAlister’s Club deal and also receive a free beverage reward.

Firehouse Subs

Customers will get a free medium sub with the purchase of a medium or large sub along with chips and a drink.

Capriotti’s

Download the Capriotti’s app to take advantage of a special offer on the Bobbie. The savory sandwich made up of turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo could be all yours for $5 this National Sandwich Day.

Arby’s

Sign up to receive emails from Arby’s and get a coupon for a free signature sandwich with the purchase of any soft drink.

Philly’s Best

Customers who buy any Philly’s Best cheesesteak or hoagie with two medium Coca-Cola fountain drinks will receive a cheesesteak sandwich for free.
