Dorial Green-Beckham, the No. 1 recruit in the country according to Rivals.com, signed a Letter of Intent with Missouri on Wednesday during a live announcement at his high school.

Green-Beckham, who some have compared to NFL star wide receiver Andre Johnson, chose Missouri over offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, and Auburn. He had long been considered an Arkansas lean, but decided on Missouri after he was showered with love at a recent Missouri basketball game.

Just to stay home and have all these guys come out and support me, Green-Beckham said of his reason to sign with Missouri.

The 6-foot-6 wide receiver set a national record with 6,353 receiving yards and 75 touchdowns over the course of his career. Green-Beckham is the biggest recruit to ever sign with Missouri and should have opportunities to play right away for coach Gary Pinkel. The addition of Green-Beckham pushed Missouri's class up to No. 31 in 247Sports' team rankings.

Dorial Green-Beckham, just on pure athleticism alone, is too good to keep off the field, said ESPNU recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill. He's also at a position who can make the easiest transition. The only question is whether he can get off press coverage. Some guys learn it and some guys don't.

Green-Beckham signed with Missouri before more than a thousand people at his high school. The top high school player had kept his decision very closely vested leading to extra interest in his Wednesday announcement.
