National Taco Day 2013: Where You Can Score Free Tacos And Cheap Grub Across The US
Friday is National Taco Day, and all across America you can take part in the celebration by digging into a delicious taco for free or at a reduced price, thanks to deals at several chains.
The Mexican meal consisting of corn or wheat tortillas filled with meat and covered with toppings is quite popular internationally, with more than 4.5 billion tacos consumed around the world last year. According to the NationalTacoDay.com website, that amounts to 775 million pounds, or the weight of two Empire State Buildings. It’s also 490,000 miles of tacos -- the distance from Earth to the moon and back.
While we don’t suggest you eat that many tacos yourself, you certainly can have your fair share this year. National Taco Day is one of those informal holidays heightened by the power of social media, so restaurants and chains have responded by creating discounts and freebies to mark the day.
However, the most recognized taco chain nationwide, Taco Bell, appears to not be participating in the celebration. So far, there are no offers on its Facebook page and the company’s Twitter account hasn't even mentioned National Taco Day.
Here’s where you can score free or cheap tacos Friday for National Taco Day.
