Naya Rivera’s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, is still reeling from the devastating news of her death and is finding it difficult to imagine raising his son without the "Glee" actress, a report said.
Rivera, 33, died of accidental drowning while out on a boating trip with her 4-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, on July 8. Her body was recovered from Califonia’s Lake Piru on Monday.
Dorsey has reportedly "barely slept" since the actress' tragic death, a source told People.
"It's just a nightmare. Although he wasn't with Naya, it's Josey's mom. Josey needs his mom," the source said of the actor, who finalized his divorce with Rivera in June 2018 and had joint custody of their son with her.
"Ryan can't imagine raising Josey without Naya. It's the most devastating situation," the insider added.
A day after Rivera was reported missing, Dorsey was spotted at Rivera's sister Nickayla's house holding Josey in his arms.
Since Rivera’s disappearance, Dorsey and Josey have reportedly spent every day with Naya's family. "They are all supporting each other while also taking care of Josey," the source added.
Josey was with the "Glee" actress when she went missing during their boating trip last week. Rescue officials found the 4-year-old alone and asleep on a boat, and he was immediately handed over to family members.
Dorsey's housemate, who wanted to remain anonymous, said the actor had no idea Rivera was taking Josey to the lake that day.
"Naya hadn’t been in contact with him," the source told Daily Mail. "She didn’t tell him what she was doing. He had no idea."
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the actress used all of her strength to save her son before she drowned.
Her body was found floating near the northeastern corner of Lake Piru, California, on Monday, Ventura County Sheriff William Ayub told reporters at a press conference.
Rivera and Dorsey got married in 2014 and welcomed their son a year later. The actress filed for divorce in November 2016, and their split was finalized two years later.
