NBA All-Star Game 2020: Betting Line For Team LeBron vs. Team Giannis, MVP Odds
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the captains in the 2020 NBA All-Star Game. Both rosters are loaded with good players, but one team appears to have a noticeable edge in talent.
Team LeBron has opened as a 4.5-point betting favorite over Team Giannis for Sunday’s contest in Chicago. A reasonable argument can be made that all four starters drafted by James are better than every player on Antetokounmpo’s squad.
James is joined by James Harden, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard and Luka Doncic. Antetokounmpo is very likely to win the regular-season MVP award. James, Harden, Doncic, Davis and Leonard might finish second through sixth, in some order, in the voting.
Antetokounmpo is also the favorite to be the most valuable player Sunday night. He leads the way with +400 All-Star MVP odds, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
James is second with +450 odds. Davis (+650) had the third-best odds in the game. Russell Westbrook is fourth as a reserve on Team LeBron.
Kemba Walker (+1200) is Antetokounmpo’s teammate with the best odds. Joel Embiid (+1400), Pascal Siakam (+2000) and Trae Young (+3000) round out the Team Giannis starting-five.
Donovan Mitchell (+2000), Kyle Lowry (+2500) and Khris Middleton (+2500) all have better MVP odds than Young as a reserve on Team Giannis.
Harden (+1400) and Leonard (+2000) are fourth and fifth, respectively, when it comes to Team LeBron MVP candidates. Doncic (+3000) has the same odds as Ben Simmons (+3000) and Devin Booker (+3000), who will be coming off the bench. Booker was recently named as an injury replacement for Damian Lillard.
Nikola Jokic (+5000), Jayson Tatum (+5000), Chris Paul (+6600) and Domantas Sabonis (+10000) are long-shot MVP candidates on Team LeBron.
Jimmy Butler (+5000), Brandon Ingram (+5000), Bam Adebayo (+10000) and Rudy Gobert (+10000) are long shots on Team Giannis.
Kevin Durant was the All-Star Game MVP last year when Team LeBron beat Team Giannis 178-164. Durant is expected to miss the whole 2019-2020 season with a torn Achilles.
James won his third career All-Star MVP award in 2018. Davis was the 2017 All-Star MVP. Westbrook won the award in both 2015 and 2016.
