Remember Mike Bibby, the former star guard of the Sacramento Kings back in 2001? Well, the 2nd overall pick of the 1998 NBA Draft was spotted at a game recently, looking buffed and in good shape even at the age of 41.

Bibby admitted that his love to hit the gym is the reason behind is impressive physique. He always wanted lift weights but was unable to during his NBA tenure.

“I was always built like this; it’s just [NBA teams] never wanted me to lift," said Bibby to Kings.com. "That’s what I do. I love lifting weights, I love to work out and I love extra work.”

Speaking of hard work, Bibby is best remembered as the guard who hit it well with the likes of Chris Weber, Peja Stojakovic, Doug Cristie, and Vlade Divac. That lineup brought the Kings to an entirely new level. Perhaps the most memorable is their 2002 NBA playoff run. Though they lost in the Western Conference Finals, Bibby believes that Sacramento was the best team at that time, NBA.com reported.

“Unfortunately, there were some things that didn’t go our way ... I don’t think it was meant to be, but I know we were the best team in the NBA that year. I think everybody knew it around the NBA at that time. I think we could’ve won a championship that year. It was just heartbreaking that we didn’t.”

After spending eight NBA seasons with the Kings, Bibby moved to the Atlanta Hawks, perhaps the last team where he still managed to put up decent numbers. In 2011-12, he would bounce to three different teams before calling it quits in 2012.

Like most NBA players, Bibby would venture out to coaching at Shadow Mountain High School and lead the team to four consecutive state championships. Now, he is the captain of the Ghost Ballers in the Big3 outside spending countless hours in the weight room. With his new physique, Bibby could pass for a football player now.

“I love the game,” he said. “At home, I still work out until it’s time to play, and I get out there and do what I can. I’m still going to get out there and give it all that I’ve got.”
