The past few years in the NBA have been dominated by the Golden State Warriors and their meteoric rise to success. While this season has been a struggling time for the franchise, splash brother Klay Thompson insists that the dynasty is far from over.

In a documentary by Kaiser Permanent on Thompson’s rehabilitation status, the shooting guard shared his thoughts on the team’s current situation. He opened up by saying that his journey to the NBA has been captivated by so many incredible moments. Being a multiple-time champion with the Warriors, Thompson has had his share of greatness with the team.

While he’s experienced multiple accolades in his career, the ACL tear he sustained in the final game of the previous season serves as a major setback. The Warriors were against the Toronto Raptors and Thompson was cooking another classic playoff performance. Unfortunately, the toll on his body was too immense as he was unable to finish the game. Right now the perennial All-Star has been focusing on recovering from his injuries.

“That’s what this year is giving me. It’s a recharging,” Thompson said. “I wanna get back healthy, a hundred percent because I wanna make sure this never happens again,” he emphasized.

With Thompson returning soon, he persists that the Warriors’ dynasty has a lot more to come.

“It just kills me inside when I see these other teams, so many talking heads and some of my peers saying the dynasty is over, they had a great run,” Thompson said. “I have so much more to give this game but patience definitely builds character,” he added.

The current season has been difficult for the Warriors, as they’ve fallen to the bottom of the team standings. This is due to the sudden lineup change of key players Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston leaving the team. In addition to this, even Steph Curry sustained an injury that sidelined him for months.

Whether or not people see the Warriors as done, Thompson will do everything that he can to return stronger and bring Golden State back to the title picture. The splash brothers are bound to make a healthy comeback while future draft picks are assets the team can work around with.
