Former NBA star Jeremy Lin has managed to maintain a massive net worth after being a once phenomenal player known as “Linsanity.”

It was year 2012 when bench player Lin instantly became one of the best players in the entire NBA. He had his best season with the New York Knicks but some fans might not know, Lin was already an incredible player way before “Linsanity” took the NBA by storm.

In the Ivy League, Lin averaged 17.8 points per game in 2008-09 to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists. The sensational youngster left Harvard with a great legacy and ended his career in Ivy League with flying colors. He was in the top 20 in the League’s history in assists with 406 and was third all-time in steals with 225.

Unfortunately, Lin wasn’t able to continue his impressive run as no team selected him in the 2010 NBA draft. The then 21-year-old Lin spent some time in the D-League before getting passed on by multiple NBA teams.

In February 2012, Lin’s career took a 360-degree spin as he had recently been called up from the D-League to play for the Knicks’ next game on Feb. 4. Lin did the unthinkable and scored 25 points to lead the Knicks to a win over the New Jersey Nets. His dominance continued and ultimately scored 20 or more points in six consecutive games. Lin even dropped 38 points in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers and at the end of the month, the Knicks improved their record from 8-15 to 18-18. The 13-game stint earned Lin the nickname “Linsanity.”

Last offseason, Lin had a meltdown as no NBA team signed him. The once incredible point guard did not play in the NBA this season but sealed a deal overseas with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Despite not being able to sustain his stardom, Lin’s net worth is reportedly still massive. Evidently, his short but remarkable success in New York ultimately led to him signing a huge contract with the Houston Rockets. It played a significant role in his career and because of that, Lin was able to rack up a huge net worth.

In fact, Celebrity Net Worth reported (via Sportscasting) that Lin’s current net worth is around $36 million. Though it is not as staggering as most NBA stars make these days, it is still considered as a massive paycheck for a player who has only averaged just over 11 points per game in his entire career.
