  • Rumors have surfaced that the NBA season might not push through amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic
  • LeBron James has been vocal about the continuation of the NBA season
  • Former Golden State Warrior Anthony Morrow called LeBron out on social media regarding his comments

The NBA season remains suspended with the threat of the lurking coronavirus. It has been a difficult few months for everyone as the word came out that a canceled season lingers. This prompted LeBron James to speak his mind on these speculations.

The four-time MVP shared that the rumors about the NBA canceling the season have no truth to it.

“Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true,” James tweeted.

The COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across the world and has impacted several major events. These include the 2020 Olympics, NCAA tournament, Wimbledon Championships and many more.

Regardless of these, James shared that they are ready to finish what that they have started.

“Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything,” James continued.

The LA Lakers have been one of the hottest teams of the 2019-2020 NBA season. Prior to the league-wide suspension, the Lakers clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2013. The purple and gold team are 5.5 games ahead of the Clippers and are comfortably the top team in the Western Conference.

The massive improvement the Lakers had this year puts them in a position to be a title contender. Having Anthony Davis in their roster has been a big reason for their success. The Lakers are now at 49-14 with Davis leading the team with 26.7 points per game.

With LeBron speaking up on wanting to play, former NBA player Anthony Morrow reacted to these statements.

“Bron like ‘WHOA WHOA WHOA, CANCEL WHAT? MY TEAM WAS WINNING’ lol salute,” Morrow tweeted.

Morrow was a former Golden State Warrior and served as a sharpshooter for the team prior to the rise of the dynasty. His recent comment on LeBron has caught the attention of other players in the league as well.

Lou Williams of the LA Clippers also reacted as he reposted Morrow’s statement.

While these players continue to express their thoughts on social media, the rest of the world will have to wait until sports makes a comeback.
