  • Patrick Beverly is one of the league's best defenders
  • He said that defending Lebron James is not a challenge
  • The LA Lakers defeated the LA Clippers, 112-103

Patrick Beverly is one of the most known defenders in the league. The grit he displays on the floor marks him as one of the tough players on the court. Whether it’s barking against opposing teams or locking up a squad’s star player, Beverly is always up to the challenge.

While his offensive stats don’t show All-Star selection numbers, his presence on the court proves to be a valuable asset for the LA Clippers. He gives the much-needed energy for his team as he intercepts passing lanes, rotates quickly to open spots and dives for loose balls. He has always been considered as a pivotal member of what makes the Clippers a dangerous defensive team with the aggressive pace he plays.

His confidence on the defensive end is evident with how he doesn’t back down from anybody. He’s had a rivalry going on with Russell Westbrook for years and he hasn’t shown signs of letting it go. He isn’t intimidated by the former MVP and has taken their beef further for years and years.

Signs of Beverly’s no non-sense confidence were evident after the Clippers’ loss against the LA Lakers. When asked about Lebron James being his defensive assignment, Beverly immediately responded that it wasn’t a challenge. “No challenge,” he emphasized. “It’s not hard at all,” he continued. Lebron’s credentials do not frighten Beverly at all and continue to play hard in every game he’s in.

Lebron is a four-time regular season MVP and has stepped up in big moments throughout his career. He is in his 17th year and has faced off multiple defenders across the regular season and the playoffs.

He recently led the Lakers to their first postseason berth in seven years. With Anthony Davis by his side, Lebron aims to win deep in the playoffs.

The weekend proved as a huge stretch for the Lakers in a potential playoffs preview. They defeated the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks in a 113-103 victory. It was stirred up to be a possible finals matchup for this year with the Bucks as the favored to win the Eastern Conference. They then defeated the Clippers, one of their biggest threats in the Western Conference, 112-103.
