NBA: Larry Bird Breaks Down LeBron James, Kevin Durant And Kawhi Leonard's Game

NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird comments on LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard’s game.

Boston Celtics icon Bird recently revealed his favorite players in the NBA today. According to the 62-year-old legend, there are a lot to mention but James, Durant and Leonard tops his list.

“There’s just so many of them, you hate to just pick one,” Bird told The Undefeated in an exclusive Q&A interview.

Aside from being consistently compared to Michael Jordan, Bird believes that the other special thing about James is his ability to stay healthy after playing competitively for a long period of time.

“Obviously, LeBron. I can’t compare him to anybody because he’s so great, just like Michael [Jordan] was,” Bird said.

“They’re very special, and I don’t know how in hell he [James] stays healthy. But, that’s probably one of the great qualities of his game, being able to stay healthy playing that many minutes,” Bird pointed out.

In Bird’s eyes, Durant is also special and Leonard has started to amaze him after the way he carried the Toronto Raptors to an NBA title.

“Kevin Durant is special, Kawhi Leonard ‘s run last year in the playoffs, unbelievable,” Bird noted.

The Celtics legend also commended The Golden State Warriors specifically, Klay Thompson’s unique skills. As per Bird, he is still dazzled by the Warriors’ sharpshooter’s “60 point performance” against his Indiana Pacers.

“All the Golden State guys, the way they play the game, the way they respect the game. I am still amazed that Klay Thompson could score 60 points on 11 dribbles [against Indiana],” Bird admitted.

Prior to Bird’s comments on Thompson and the Warriors, he already expressed his thoughts about the unfortunate events that happened to the former NBA champs.

In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area after the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers game, Bird looked back at Golden State’s downfall with a bit of sadness towards the dynasty the team could have made.

"It’s going to be hard to tell because they were a special team the last few years," Bird answered when asked about how the Warriors will play next season.

“It’s just unfortunate what happened to them last year because they were going to be a dynasty in the making. They had a great team,” Bird recalled.

“It seemed like they played well together. But when you lose two players like Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, it’s really hard to overcome that," Bird added.
