An NBA legend shared his thoughts about smoking cannabis and said that it just “made him want potato chips.”

Charles Barkley is one of the best players in the history of NBA. He is now known for his entertaining NBA commentary and analyses but during his playing years, “Sir Charles” was a tremendous athlete with a tremendous appetite for food as well.

As expected, one of his latest comments was another hit once again. During a brief interview with Ben Golliver of The Washington Post, Barkley talked about one of the recent issues within professional sports in the U.S. –cannabis.

According to Barkley, he too has smoked cannabis several times in the past. However, having known for his appetite for food, the NBA legend admitted that smoking cannabis just “made him want to eat potato chips.”

“I’ve had pot like five times. It just makes me want potato chips. If you’re going to use Cannabis – I must be getting old to say Cannabis – I hope you’re doing it for the right reason, not because you’re a druggie,” Barkley revealed.

Last month, retired NBA player Al Harrington tried to address cannabis in the NBA.

As per Harrington, it is important for the NBA to implement similar rules as the MLB in terms of marijuana or cannabis.

After his career was over, Harrington got into the cannabis business. And now, he believes the players should have the freedom of consuming cannabis if they think it’s the right thing for them after practice or a game.

Harrington further pointed out that NBA players are professional enough to know that smoking cannabis before the game is never a good idea even though it is believed that there are players who regularly show up in games high of weed. Reports also claim that over 70 percent of professional NBA players consume the plant to a certain degree.

“We are professionals, and we know there are a time and place for everything. After the game, I’m going to blow it down; I’m going to relax, play video games and heal,” Harrington pointed out.

Harrington and Barkley share the same thoughts about cannabis in pro sports. Cannabis and drugs are “serious issue” for Barkley as he revealed that he once lost a brother because of it.

“If you’re using pot to heal your body and things like that, I guess I can accept it. But I don’t want guys just smoking pot because they like to smoke pot. I’m very sensitive to the subject. I had a brother who died young who was a junkie, so drugs are a real serious issue to me,” Bakley revealed.
