NBA News: Atlanta Hawks' Forward Chandler Parsons Involved In A Car Crash

Atlanta Hawks’ forward Chandler Parsons had been diagnosed with concussion and whiplash after getting involved in a car accident after their team practice, Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports posted on his social media account.
Parsons only played five games in his first season with the Hawks. He’s been averaging 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds on limited playing time. He was acquired by Atlante fro the Memphis Grizzlies where he was traded for Miles Plumlee and Solomon Hill before the start of the season.
Before his stint with Memphis, the 31-year old Parsons is seen to be one of the rising two-way players in the league according to a ClutchPoints report. He was drafted in the second round by Houston Rockets out of the University of Florida and had his career-high in point-averages with 16.6 points per game in his third season with the Rockets. He is best remembered for hitting 10 three-pointers in the second half. Unfortunately, they still lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 88-87.
After his third season in Houston, he became a free agent and signed a three-year $46M contract with the Dallas Mavericks per RealGM reports and still averaged in double digits but that’s also when his knee issues started to creep in. He got a four-year $94 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies but the team wasn’t able to maximize his talents.
He started to be get hit by injuries, causing him to play a total of 85 games in his three seasons with the Grizzlies before he was moved to the Hawks. Per Michael Blinn from the New York Post, the 6-foot-9 forward had talks with the team about his role to the team as Atlante has completely bought to the idea of injecting youth to the team lead by Trae Young.
Parsons has entered the league’s concussion protocol and won’t be joining the team as Atlanta plays the Spurs in San Antonio on Friday. The Hawks is currently at 9-32 win-loss record and is coming off a victory against the Phoenix Suns, 123-110.
