Without question, LeBron James is arguably the best NBA player the world has ever seen.

Of course, there is always that comparison and argument on where the 37-year-old stands when the names of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are mentioned.

For former NBA player and current president of The Basketball League David Magley, there is only one thing negative he sees as far as the career of “The King” when he appeared on the Sports For All PH podcast.

The only negative thing he sees for James is how he will be remembered in the places where he has played.

Magley pointed out how James could have been Cleveland’s godhead in basketball had he stayed there from the start.

“If he stayed in Cleveland from day one and never goes to Miami or back to Cleveland or to LA and he wins two or three championships, he is on the godhead of Cleveland at sports,” Magley explained.

“He’s still one of the best but I don’t know if he is ever going to be adored in one town the way he should be because he is just that good. That is the only negative I can say of him,” the TBL top brass added.

Moreover, the 62-year-old executive gave his take on building super teams.

“Don’t know if I love building super teams for a chance to win a championship. I mean, I think if you are the best player in the league, any team you’re on should have a chance to win a championship coz you are just that good,” Magley stated.

Regardless, Magley remains awed by what James has done even for the sport in all and commended James for his dedication to the game, magnifying how the four-time NBA champion does not take much time off in the 17 seasons he has played in.

“Do you look at LeBron over the years? I think he has played 75 to 80% of his games. Maybe more, maybe 85 which is remarkable. He doesn’t take a lot of days off. He doesn’t do a lot of load management. He plays his minutes,” he shared.

Right now, James needs to maximize his time on the court for the sake of the Lakers.

But the reality is that time is ticking, and the 17-time All-Star could be nearing the end of his career.

It may not be showing now but may happen in the next couple of years.
