An NBA legend such asRick Barry had a lot of success as far as shooting is concerned.

Although most remember him for his unusual free-throw shooting, the point is he was good at it and this is the reason why he started and ended his career with good numbers.

As far as shooting is concerned, the 77-year-old was asked about his take on Ben Simmons on whether the Australian cager should try shooting free throws in the way he did.

“Anyone that is shooting poorly from the free-throw line as bad as he is should give it a try. You should be willing to try anything,” the NBA and ABA champion stated when appeared on the Sports for All PH podcast hosted by Vincent Juico and Brian Yalung.

“It’s not a matter of whether Ben wants to do it or any other player wants to do it. They should be required to do it. It’s part of their job. It’s ridiculous that players can say whether they want to do something or not. You’re an employee for God’s sake," he added.

"You get paid millions of dollars and you’re gonna tell your team, your coach, ‘No, I’m not gonna do what you want me to do.' That’s BS. Tell ‘em to hit the road."

Most know the issues Simmons has had in the past years with his shooting.

He is now with the Brooklyn Nets, and it remains to be seen if he can fit in and finally get that shooting stroke that he has been criticized for.
