NBA PREVIEW: Knicks Travel to Atlanta to Play Hawks (Tonight at 6:30 PM; TV: MSG)
The Knicks travel to Atlanta to play the Hawks in a showdown between two probable playoff teams.
The Hawks have won only three of their last eight games. The Knicks are coming off a painful loss to the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.
Chauncey Billups will likely sit out the game. Hawks big man Josh Smith will play and wear a knee brace.
Carmelo Anthony leads the Knicks in scoring average at 26.5 points per game. Joe Johnson, who was on a short list to join the Knicks during this past free-agent summer, leads the Hawks in scoring at 19.2.
The Hawks currently are in the fifth seed of the playoffs, and Knicks are sixth.
