With the Los Angeles Lakers in revamp mode, new head coach Frank Vogel will have his work cut out for him. While most are eager to see who the Lakers will be pursuing in the NBA Draft and NBA free agency, there are still the young guns on the squad that needs addressing. One of them is Josh Hart, perhaps one of the underrated, if not forgotten, guards in the roster.

Hart had his share of playing time last season and almost got his big break when the Lakers were losing guards one after the other. Seemingly convenient playing the two-guard position, it came to a point where the 24-year-old was called upon to play the point. Things did not turn out too well although he is expected to get more chances. Frustration has unsurprisingly cropped up and the 30th pick of the 2017 NBA Draft hopes to work on that this offseason, Heavy.com reported.

Last season, Hart admitted that he got kind of lost. Part of that was the entry of LeBron James where he claims he sort of struggled on what his role would be. This time around and with a new head coach, Hart has put his foot forward and says that he plans to repeatedly talk to him to find out what his role would be for the coming NBA season.

Clearly, Hart wants to get it from the coach directly to find out what his role would be, Yahoo Sports reported. But as far as Gilbert Arenas is concerned, he is approaching it all wrong. The best approach according to him and something Agent Zero picked up from a former top recruit in Tony Bland is to do your game and play your style.

“What ends up happening is coaches don’t know what they want. They have an idea, but they really don’t know what they want. You have to show them. So if you say, ‘Coach, what’s my role?’ he’ll give you a role but it might not fit you. He doesn’t even know your style, he doesn’t know your game, he doesn’t know your antics, he doesn’t know none of it!” said Arenas in that podcast.

Hart has shown that he can be a star in his own right if he plays accordingly. For now, playing time is questionable with James, Lonzo Ball and other guards in the rotation. Incoming free agents or rookies will also crowd him for exposure, meaning the only way Hart can get out of his slump is to play his heart out.
