It turns out that the 33-year-old was not 100% healthy and played through pain which was never reflected on the team's injury report.

The revelation about Green's injury was made on "Inside the Green Room." He mentioned how he had been dealing with pain in his Achilles tendon, a reason why his level took a dip in the postseason. The injury never showed up in the Lakers' injury report.

The threats that he received after that Game 5 miss was well-documented, ESPN reported. But Green mentioned in the podcast that it was something he did not dwell on. He understood how Lakers' followers were and said that he just shrugged it off.

Regardless, all of this is in the past and all that matters for Green and the Lakers is that they achieved their goal of becoming NBA champions.

In the 2019-20 NBA regular season, Green played 68 games, averaging 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Those numbers hardly changed in the playoffs (despite his Achilles tendon injury), norming 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists, according to NBA.com.

After winning his third NBA ring, Green could be adding more if he stays on with the Lakers. He has a year left in his contract and will earn $15.3 million for the 2020-21 season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent next offseason and remains a vital piece for any team in need of someone who can defend and hit it from the outside.

For now, Green's main goal is to honor his current pact. However, there are murmurs that he could be part of bigger deals if the Lakers will opt to add in more star power. There have been a lot of names coming out over the past days. These include Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Derrick Rose of the Detroit Pistons.
