Houston Rockets, who have not won a National Basketball Association (NBA) title since 1995, reportedly have been desperate to rope in Andre Iguodala from Memphis Grizzlies.

In four out of the previous five seasons, Rockets were knocked out of the tournament by none other than Golden State Warriors, including twice in the Western Conference finals.

Rockets, who currently are in fifth place on the points table, have already begun to pen down a plan for the 2020 season. In order to beat the Warriors and the other sides, they have decided to trade for a former Warriors forward.

"Daryl Morey has tried any number of two-way, three-way, four-way scenarios to get Andre Iguodala from Memphis. That doesn't seem to be a scenario that is going to come into play. I think he's kind of thrown his hands up on that one," ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said Sunday.

There are still seven weeks to go for the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline and it looks like Memphis are just looking to aggravate the market for Iguodala's services. Memphis, who are among the bottom three teams in the Western Conference chart, don't have to make the trade right now and instead, wait till January as a bidding war for their forward seems likely that could fetch them a good sum.

"Memphis has been absolutely resolute in their belief they're going to find a trade for Andre Iguodala. So if you want him -- the Lakers, the Clippers -- you have to trade for him. Those two LA teams, they are hoping for a buyout," ESPN's Wojnarowski added.

Daryl Morey and Rockets had attempted to sign the 2015 NBA Finals MVP during the summer of 2017, but Iguodala eventually returned to the Warriors on a three-year contract worth $48 million.

Iguodala, who will turn 36 next month, has been a part of the NBA for almost 15 years now, having played for four teams and if Rockets manage to trade him, they'll be his sixth NBA team. He will be an unrestricted free agent in July.
