Kawhi Leonard and Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly working on some minor details before making an announcement.

It has been a couple of days now since NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard had been consistently linked to Los Angeles, not only Lakers but Clippers as well. Just yesterday, rumors of Kawhi asking former Lakers president Magic Johnson if LA is trading for him has hit the news and now, things seem to have made a big jump as Kawhi and the Lakers are reportedly “working on” some minor details before making an announcement.

According to Lakers Daily, the buzz swirling around the NBA atmosphere lately about the two-time Finals MVP seriously considering signing with the Lakers is already a “done deal”.

While there is still no official announcement yet coming from either of the two NBA entities, many believe this will still fall down under the category of “rumor”.

Indeed, Kawhi has kept the NBA world waiting for a huge revelation which will definitely change things up next season. Sources, however, claim that the reigning Finals MVP is still undecided and may take more time to decide between Lakers and Clippers, or to go and strive for a back-to-back championship and re-sign with the Raptors, Yahoo Sports reported.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst noted that the Lakers will struggle next season should they miss out on Kawhi. Especially since from the looks of it, all the players in the free agency market that could help LA have already signed with different teams.

If things will go the right way for the Purple and Gold, they could possibly be forming one of the greatest teams in NBA history with Kawhi. But not everyone is convinced. Some question how Kawhi would fit with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

According Bomani Jones, Kawhi “will not be happy” playing the role of LeBron’s “sidekick.” Jones added that any player that will play with LeBron in LA will be the superstar’s sidekick. That is just how things will go for the Lakers.

A few days from now, Kawhi is expected to finally make a decision. Until then, LeBron, AD and the rest of the Lakers can continue making efforts to land the biggest name left in the free agency market today.
