  • Andre Drummond hints at wanting more playing time to dominate
  • Drummond's comments are seen by pundits as a shot at Frank Vogel
  • Drummond will seek a bigger pay if the Lakers want him to return next season

Andre Drummond’s future remains unknown although the likelihood of him returning to the Los Angeles Lakers may have taken a big hit.

With NBA fans raving about DeAndre Ayton's domination, the 6-foot-10 center has been drawn into the fray.

Set to become an unrestricted free agent, Drummond is coming off a disappointing short-term stint with the Lakers.

Part of the reason behind that is the lack of playing time he got under head coach Frank Vogel.

But joining a team that relies heavily on Anthony Davis and LeBron James, the 27-year-old cager should be matured enough to know that this would happen.

Hence, it appears the perfect recourse for Drummond is to check out teams where he could get more time on the floor.

Ayton and Brook Lopez of the Milwaukee Bucks have been doing well, a reason why they are in the NBA Finals.

Both are the main guys for their respective teams. On Instagram, Drummond feels he too can dominate if he is given the chance.

Davis, who prefers to play forward, was often forced to play center. However, the two-time All-Star cannot deny the fact that he had his chance–especially when “The Brow” got injured or missed some games.

Unless he finds a way to know his role as part of the Lakers rotation and co-exist with Davis and James, he is likely better off playing for some other team.

The word going around is that Drummond and the Lakers are open to the idea of retaining their ties.

However, the center would have to agree to a major salary cut for that to happen. Based on a previous report, Drummond is allegedly not open to returning to a minimum deal.

The response was seen on social media when Drummond spoke to Robert Mavi of Lakers’ Daily.

He replied by saying “you drunk” in that post, suggesting that money will play in factor on where he could play next season–aside from playing time.
