Kyle Korver is free for the taking, but there is no clear picture yet as to which team would take the bait. At 38, most teams will undoubtedly have second thoughts on the streak shooter since the focus of most right now is assembling a core of younger players to lead their respective franchises. There are of course exceptions and some of these could be the ones making a serious run at the NBA title.

On paper, at least two teams come to mind – the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers would make sense since they are in need of shooters to help compliment LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Also, the fact that the purple and gold are working on limited budget factors in – meaning adding an aging shooter who will come off the bench looms as a good fit.

If not the Lakers, Korver could find himself headed back to the NBA Eastern Conference where several teams could be interested. One of them is the Milwaukee Bucks who could use a big shot in the arm with his outside shot, ESPN reported. If not the Bucks, the Philadelphia 76ers could be another landing spot – a team he suited up for from 2003-07.

Korver was officially waived by the Phoenix Suns and is waiting to clear waivers. League sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Suns are planning to buy out the partially guaranteed contract which is worth $3.4 million. The NBA All-Star was originally owed $7.5 million next season.

Whoever between the Lakers, Bucks, and Sixers get him are likely to take him in because of his three-point shooting. Just last season, he took 72-percent of his shots from the rainbow country and drilled 39.7-percent of them. He was good for 8.6 points per game last NBA season although the teams mentioned as interested in him could care less since he will be coming off the bench.

It all depends on what Korver would want in the end. At 38, he is expected to retire at some point. And the only thing that is missing from his basketball resume is an NBA title. Much of this was discussed in a previous post. The Lakers and Bucks have high chances of helping him fulfill that dream. If not a title, he could opt for a nostalgic run and play one more year with the Sixers who could also pull off some surprises. It all depends on what the former Creighton standout would decide on moving forward.
