One name has officially been taken out of 2020 NBA agent market with reports that Draymond Green as agreed to a four-year extension with the Golden State Warriors. This means that all speculations on whether the 29-year-old would be moving on or not have been officially answered, something that was expected to shroud the coming NBA wars.

Multiple sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that both Green and the Warriors agreed on the contract extension which will start in 2020. The only thing missing is the 35th pick's signature on the dotted line although all this is expected to be done soon.

With the new deal, Green finds himself sitting on a five-year deal worth $118 million. The extension will pay him $22.2 million, $24 million, $25.8 million and $27.6 million throughout the deal, ESPN reported.

Green has been a vital cog for the Warriors, exemplified by his regular triple-double performances during the 2019-20 NBA season. With key players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and now-former Warrior Kevin Durant forced to sit out some games, the 29-year-old power forward stepped up at the proper time to help the keep the charges of head coach Steve Kerr afloat.

Green has averaged 12.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks in 123 career playoff games with the Warriors. In 22 playoff games last season, Green averaged 13.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.

With Curry, Thompson and Green now locked up, focus shifts on adding new pieces following the exit of key players. Aside from Durant, who is now with the Brooklyn Nets, also gone are Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. They did take in D'Angelo Russell this summer with most believing it was a short-term move to buy Thompson time as he recovers from his ACL injury. DLO's length of stay in the Bay Area will likely depend on how he fits into the Dubs' system.

In a previous post, Green was seen as the guy likely to step up and help Curry for the 2019-20 NBA wars. The all-star guard felt that the hardworking forward deserved a contract extension and it appears the Dubs were listening. Looking ahead, and until a Kerry can show that the new breed can rise to the occasion, Curry and Green will have to double their efforts while Thompson is on the mend.
