KEY POINTS

  • Beal could move to the 76ers to form a new “Big Three” with Embiid and Harden
  • The Wizards' level of interest in Harris is unknown at the moment
  • The Sixers don’t have many assets to offer following the acquisition of Harden

The Philadelphia 76ers are humming with the duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden.

But looking ahead, it would not come as a surprise if the Sixers add another piece to create a “Big Three” like other NBA teams.

That third piece could be anyone. But one name that may make sense is Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards.

But for Philly to pull that off, they would need to come up with a package that would entice the Wizards to consider a deal involving the three-time All-Star.

It was already reported recently that Beal said it was fair to say that he is leaning towards re-signing with the Wizard, Chase Hughes of NBCS reported.

However, the 28-year-old also admitted that he used the rest of the season to evaluate his options. So until Beal signs a new deal, anything is possible.

Multiple teams have been linked to the third pick of the 2012 NBA Draft in the past. But this time, the Sixers have been mentioned as a strong contender for his services.

Former NBA player Andrew Bogut gave an interesting take on that possibility. The 37-year-old center claimed he has heard rumors from people close to the situation that Beal is trying to get to Philadelphia in the offseason to team up with Embiid and Harden when he spoke on the "Rogues Brogues" podcast.

“I’ve heard a pretty big rumor… from some people that are pretty close to the situation in the NBA: Big three to Philly. Brad Beal is trying to get to Philadelphia in the offseason to team up with Harden and Embiid,” the top pick of the 2005 NBA Draft stated.

A prime candidate to be moved is Tobias Harris. However, in question would be the level of interest of the Wizards.

A sign-and-trade could work but the 76ers may have to add more assets to make this work.

Harris is due about $76 million in the next two seasons, money that Washington may not want to take in.

Philly is already short on assets following the James Harden-Ben Simmons deal. Hence, a plausible scenario may see the 76ers adding players such as Tyrese Maxey or Matisse Thybulle.

The Sixers can resort to other things if they are bent on getting Beal.

Similar to how he pulled off the Harden deal, expected 76ers top brass Daryl Morey to whip up something to get the deal done.
