Luka Doncic set the internet ablaze on Sunday after he bailed out the Dallas Mavericks in overtime of Game 4 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Several NBA superstars, including LeBron James and Stephen Curry, took to social media to join the myriad of witnesses who raved about the second-year guard as the Mavs tied the series at two games apiece.
James and Curry were left in awe of the performance from the 21-year old, who notched another historic triple-double that was capped by a long-range bucket at the buzzer that sealed the game.
Damian Lillard, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Love, and CJ McCollum could not help but be astonished by Doncic’s clutch heroics as well.
Trae Young, meanwhile, called his fellow young All-Star “different” as he tried to dismiss the rivalry discussion between them.
Despite practically playing with one leg, Doncic went berserk to spearhead the attack for Dallas, who also missed star big man Kristaps Porzingis due to knee soreness.
The Slovenian superstar detonated for 43 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists to become the youngest player in NBA postseason history to post a 40-point triple-double while joining Charles Barkley and Oscar Robertson as the only players to put up a 40-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist game in the Playoffs.
Doncic carried the Mavs on his broad shoulders in the second half as the team battled back from 21 points down to push the series down to a virtual best-of-three.
After going back and forth with Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams late in regulation and in the extended period, Doncic took the spotlight for the final possession. With 3.7 left, the rising phenom had Reggie Jackson off-balanced with his dribbling wizardry before he unleashed his signature step back from way out to deliver the game-winner.
“We have confidence since the beginning,” Doncic said at post-game. “If you don't believe, you shouldn't be here. We've believed from the beginning, and now we're tied 2-2."
Williams top-scored the Clippers with 36 points off the bench while Leonard put up 32 points, nine boards, and four assists. Paul George, on the other hand, continues his struggles offensively, scoring just nine points on three out of 14 shooting in 45 minutes.
The Mavericks will shoot for the series advantage in Game 5 on Tuesday.
