There is one NBA team Kevin Durant will never join for the rest of his basketball career.

When NBA superstar Durant decided to leave Oklahoma City Thunder a few years ago, he immediately received backlash from everyone associated with the NBA. Players, the media and fans were all blasting him for what they perceived as a weak move – joining Golden State Warriors, the team that had just eliminated them from a shot at an NBA championship.

Three years later, Durant seemed to still be haunted by all the drama involved while parting ways with OKC. In his heartfelt piece on The Wall Street Journal, the two-time NBA Finals MVP expressed his true feelings about reuniting with his former team.

According to Durant, returning to OKC as a player from a rival team was a “venomous toxic” feeling. He also claimed that he will never be attached to the Thunder organization and the whole Oklahoma city as well.

“Such a venomous toxic feeling when I walked into that arena. And just the organization, the trainers and equipment managers, those dudes is pissed off at me? Ain’t talking to me? I’m like, ‘Yo, this is where we going with this?’ Because I left a team and went to play with another team? I’ll never be attached to that city again because of that,” Durant wrote.

Durant also revealed that he once considered making a Thunder comeback in the past. However, he felt like none of the love and support that the organization showed him when he was still there was real.

“I eventually wanted to come back to that city and be part of that community and organization, but I don’t trust nobody there. That s--t must have been fake,” Durant exclaimed.

During his time with OKC, Durant became a perennial All-Star and led the team to multiple playoff appearances. Together with Russell Westbrook, the Thunder made the NBA Finals in 2012 but failed to secure their first NBA title against LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

Meanwhile, for the first time on Thursday, Durant unveiled his new number and new uniform. Earlier in the offseason, Durant announced that he would wear no. 7 for the Brooklyn Nets.

The four-time scroing champ has worn the no. 35 since he played basketball in college until he turned pro, and this is the first time Durant has changed his jersey number.
