NBA Trade Rumor: The Miami Heat Is Interested In Trading For Bradley Beal And John Wall
The Miami Heat is looking to stack-up its roster with another rumored trade involving Bradley Beal and John Wall. The team has already reinforced its backcourt with the addition of former 76ers guard Jimmy Butler.
Speculations have arisen regarding the status of Washington's dynamic duo. According to an ESPN sportswriter Frank Isola, Miami has shown interest in both players and are trying to foster a deal to bring them to Florida.
The Heat have previously tried to foster a bargain that would have potentially brought former OKC stand-out Russel Westbrook. Several sources have said that the deal failed because Miami was reluctant to include Bam Adebayo or Tyler Herro in the trade package.
A Westbrook and Butler tandem would have been scary, but the team is still exploring other options, including a possible deal with the Wizards. Getting both Wall and Beal would undoubtedly give the Heat a chance in the East after disappointing seasons post the Lebron James era.
However, Washington doesn't appear to be interested in letting their players go. In fact, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the team has "rejected all trade overtures."
Up to this point, the Wizards have declined to offer Beal in any trade proposals. The two-time All-Star was on top form last season after averaging 25.6 points, 5.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
John Wall for his part will probably miss a lot of games in the 2019-20 season due to an Achilles injury. Favorably, the Wizards have signed Isaiah Thomas to fill-up the team's point guard spot.
Thomas will surely add leadership and grit to the struggling NBA team, but it's unlikely that the former All-Star will be at his top form. Thomas struggled to get relevant minutes in the last two seasons after averaging career highs as a member of the Boston Celtics in 2017.
Since then, he was traded to the Cavaliers, then the Lakers, and the Denver Nuggets before signing with Washington this season.
