  • The Kings allegedly pitch a generous offer for Ben Simmons
  • Philly may opt to wait on other offers before considering the Kings' pitch
  • The Kings are expected not to include rising stars in the trade Hield

The Philadelphia 76ers are listening to offers for Ben Simmons, and it appears one team has broken the ice.

The Sacramento Kings have allegedly pitched a generous offer, a package centered around Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III.

The report comes from Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson, alleging that the Kings would probably offer a package involving the two players plus possibly several future first-round draft picks.

An unidentified league source claims that the Kings would send a minimum of three first-round picks to make the deal happen.

However, another unnamed source revealed that the Sixers may not be interested in a couple of names that are not part of the deal. They are De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton.

The Kings have no interest in dealing away Fox, someone who is tipped to stardom.

The same case holds for Haliburton who has come into his own in his rookie year.

But considering Hield owns deadly three-point shooting and a budding star waiting to explode, the deal could still be appealing.

It all depends if the two would be enough to convince the Sixers to agree to a deal.

Simmons has been a hot topic as of late following his questionable performance in the NBA playoffs.

His outside shooting continues to be an issue. However, it is more about his preference to avoid big plays that have drawn heavy criticism.

The 24-year-old averaged only 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game. He also finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Other than the Kings, more NBA teams are expected to make their pitches for the former top pick.

Regardless, Philly will want an All-Star in return to fill the void.

The Kings’ offer is tempting, but Philadelphia is more likely to wait on other offers before making a decision.

Despite his talent, one team that may not push for Simmons is the Los Angeles Lakers.

As mentioned in a previous post, it was explained that the Lakers need a playmaker who can co-exist with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

At 6-foot-11, Simmons has shown the ability to orchestrate plays. But beyond that, his lack of outside shooting negates the need.

This is the reason why pundits feel that the Lakers would be better off targeting other free agents such as former Lakers player Lonzo Ball.
