Alabama held onto the top spot of The Associated Press rankings, followed by Oregon and three newcomers to the top five this season, as South Carolina, Florida, and West Virginia all moved up on Sunday.

LSU's loss to Florida on Saturday propelled the Gators to No. 3, while the Tigers slipped to No. 9.

The other SEC teams involved in an important Saturday matchup were South Carolina and Georgia. The Gamecocks' victory vaulted them to No. 3, while the loss dropped the Bulldogs to No. 14.

Rounding out the top spots were Kansas State at No. 6 and Notre Dame at No.7. Oregon State found their way into the top 10 following their victory over Washington State, 19-6.

Another notable move included Ohio State, which moved up four spots to No. 8 after a 63-38 thumping over then-No. 21 Nebraska. The Cornhuskers fell out of the Top 25.

Other schools to drop out of the Top 25 include TCU, Washington, Northwestern, and UCLA.
