"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 12 Episode 7 is not airing this week. Fans will have to wait longer than they expected before they can enjoy the episode that will decide Marty Deeks's (Eric Olsen) future in law enforcement.

The CBS police procedural is taking a festive break after airing its Christmas special titled "If The Fate Allows," last week. However, when the show returns after a two-week hiatus, it is expected to go big on action and personal dramas.

The seventh episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 12 is titled "Overdue" and it is expected to pick up from where the winter finale left off. While the team will be investigating a new crime scene, the show is expected to tackle some important questions from the ongoing storyline, particularly about Deeks's future as an NCIS agent.

Last week, fans saw Deeks receive a call from Hetty (Linda Hunt) who wants him to join the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for his return to NCIS. Meanwhile, fans are familiar with Deeks and Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) struggles in their personal lives. Deeks's dismissal from the department has only added to their struggles involving their plans of family expansion.

According to the official synopsis for Episode 7 (via Cartermattt), Callen's (Chris O'Donnell) team is investigating a murder case of a man who let out super-sensitive information. This led to the kidnapping of the doctor behind the development of neurotechnology, which could be turned into a weapon of destruction.

Meanwhile, the team members will find themselves in an awkward situation when FLETC interviews them about Deeks. Elsewhere, Arkady Kolcheck returns for an important discussion with Callen.

"The NCIS team's murder investigation of a man who sold military information leads to the abduction of a doctor whose cutting edge neurotechnology could be developed into advanced weaponry. Also, team members are interviewed by FLETC to see if Deeks would make a good NCIS agent, and Callen tries to have an important talk with Arkady," reads the synopsis for the next chapter.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 12 Episode 7 airs Jan. 3, 2021, on CBS.
