Is 'NCIS' Season 18 Episode 4 Airing This Tuesday? Spoilers Revealed

"NCIS" Season 18 Episode 4 is not airing tonight. CBS's long-running police procedural series has taken a long hiatus and will not be airing any new episodes this year.

Fans will be disappointed to know that they will have to wait a bit longer than expected to see what happens after the episode titled "Blood and Treasure." According to Cartermatt, the next chapter of the series is not airing until mid-January. It is said that the show was previously expected to return for its midseason premiere on Jan. 5.

However, there seems to be a slight shift in CBS's schedule for January 2021. As per the outlet, the network has released an all-new timetable that hints at repeat episodes from the series during the first week of 2021. Although not confirmed, "NCIS" Season 18 is expected to be back by Jan. 12. But the network is yet to give an official release date for the episode.

The good news is that the show has a long run ahead. Fans can look forward to watching 13 new episodes when it returns from its break.

While there is not much information available about the next episode yet, it is known that the segment carries the odd title "Sunburn."

More spoilers and speculations from the publication suggest that this could be the episode that will show the return of Margo Harshman's character Delilah, Timothy McGee's wife. In addition, the said episode is set in the pre-COVID world. The fourth chapter of the season will also be a part of the backward time-jump story-arc.

In an interview with Cartermatt, screenwriter Frank Cardea teased that the first five episodes are set in a different timeline than the rest of the series. It won't be until Episode 7 when the show returns to its present day.

"The first five episodes take place in the period of ['Musical Chairs']. Episode 6 wraps that up, and Episode 7 will bring us up to a post-COVID world," Cardea said in the interview.

"NCIS" Season 18 Episode 4 is scheduled to air in 2021 on CBS.
