Nebraska Woman Planned To Use Minor Girls ‘To Catch Sex Traffickers’, Assaulted Them In Car
A woman in Lincoln, Nebraska, was charged with felony child abuse after she allegedly assaulted two teenage girls and planned to take the minors to Las Vegas to have them be a part of an undercover operation to catch sex traffickers.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the woman, identified as 39-year-old Amy Schellhorn, was arrested following a report of an assault filed by the mother of a minor girl.
Officer Xavier Schwerdtfeger of the Lincoln Police Department said Saturday afternoon that a 16-year-old girl reported that she and another 15-year-old girl were in Schellhorn’s car when she snapped.
The girl said Schellhorn pushed and hit her and tried to kick both of them out of the moving car near 26th and B streets. She continued to assault them by hitting and cursing, until eventually throwing them out at Southwest First and West A streets.
The Lincoln police official said that during the investigation, they learned that Schellhorn had discussed with the two girls of taking them to Las Vegas to work with her in an undercover operation to catch sex traffickers.
The court documents stated that Schellhorn had told the victims they would be paid $500,000 if they participate in the so-called undercover operation.
According to the police, Schellhorn then drove to Omaha with two 14-year-old girls. The investigation revealed that one of the girls was taken without permission from her foster mother.
Police said Schellhorn allegedly planned to go to Omaha to get a new car and also intended to meet with two “bodyguards” to drive them.
Schellhorn was arrested Saturday after the police tracked her phone to a car dealership in Omaha. The Omaha police located Schellhorn and detained her along with the two 14-year-old girls.
On Monday she was charged with child abuse and her bond was set at $500,000.
In a similar incident, that was reported in New Jersey, two brothers kidnapped four minor girls and drugged them before sexually assaulting three of them. The girls who were reported missing by then were later found in Asbury Park and Neptune Township.
