Netlix showed its support for the Black Lives Matter movement amid the George Floyd protests in a recent post on Twitter.

Floyd’s death has started a new era of protests against racism. Many were disgusted when a video of a white police officer kneeling on an African-American man's neck went viral.

The victim was identified as Floyd. According to reports, he was cooperative during the arrest. However, the white police officer pinned him down and kneeled on his neck for several minutes. Floyd told the officer that he couldn’t breathe, but the latter refused to let him go until he died.

Netflix recently showed its support for the campaign seeking justice for Floyd. In a post on Twitter, the streaming giant reiterated the importance of black lives.

“To be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter,” Netflix wrote. “We have a platform, and we have a duty to our Black members, employees, creators and talent to speak up.”

The post sparked various reactions from other Twitter users. Some slammed Netflix saying that not only black lives matter, but also everyone else's.

“All lives matter,” @KortsMW commented.

Another user agreed by writing that all people, whether they be black, white, Asian, African, matter. The same netizen also mentioned straight, gays, bi, and survivors.

“All. Lives. Matter. Not in any particular order,” the netizen wrote.

However, many were not happy with the “all lives matter” reaction. According to them, the movement didn’t mean that only black lives matter. Instead, they were focusing on who needs the attention the most.

“That's great, hun. But right now we're focusing on the ones who are being killed unjustly and who have been oppressed and treated like absolute shit for centuries,” @deadlypinkfluff commented.

“Exactly. All lives matter when all lives are treated equally. They clearly aren't right now,” @harrybull02 commented.

“When people say ‘Protect the forests,’ they aren't saying ‘To hell with the deserts.’ When people say ‘Save The Whales,’ they do not mean ‘To hell with all the other marine life,’” @Truuthguy explained.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé has been encouraging fans to support the various campaigns seeking justice for Floyd. According to the “Halo” singer, someone has been charged, but justice is still far from being achieved.
