Netflix started a not-so-PG trend on Twitter on Thursday to a lot of Twitter users’ surprise. One thing the streaming service isn't known for is cracking dirty jokes on social media, but that’s exactly what happened this week with other big-name brands also joining in on the fun.

Netflix US's official account started the conversation, asking, “what’s something you can say during sex but also when you manage a brand twitter account?”

The joke was designed to uncover innuendos or double-entendres that would otherwise normally be used by brands in a much, much different context.

Soon after, Netflix’s post was flooded with Twitter users delivering their own punchlines, some more provocative than others. One Twitter user named Mark Espinosa replied: “We have heard your complaints and are working diligently to correct the issue.”

Netflix replied:

Most of the user-submitted jokes are a little more difficult to get to since they are now buried under hundreds of major brand tweets. It didn’t take too long for the tweet to be flooded by brands, each giving their own personal spins on the joke.

Wendy’s, Wingstop, Instagram, Ted Talks, Hot Pockets, Jimmy John’s, and Animal Planet were amongst the official Twitter accounts who participated in the Netflix dirty joke thread. To make it even more surprising, Netflix replied to almost every single one of them with their own takes and brand puns.

At the time of writing, Netflix's original post had over 11K replies, 26K retweets, and 140K likes.
