Netflix series "Dead To Me" has been renewed for a second season exactly one month after its May 3 release date. The news was announced at the FYSee panel in Los Angeles on Monday.

"Dead To Me" is a Netflix series starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. The comedic thriller focuses around Jen (Applegate) who is obsessed with solving her husband's hit-and-run murder and Judy (Cardellini), a woman who, having experienced a tragic loss as well, befriends Jen after meeting at a grief support group.

James Marsden, Brandon Scott and Ed Asner also star in the hit series. As for who will appear in Season 2, Applegate and Cardellini "will return as Jen and Judy, unexpected friends who get taken down a dark path", explains People, as will showrunner and executive producer Liz Feldman.

For fans and critics alike, news of the series renewal is no shock. The dark comedy was the second show to top Netflix's top 10 list in the UK after its launch in early May, according to Deadline. This is only the second top 10 list for the streaming service. David Attenborough's documentary series "Our Planet" snagged the number one spot for the streaming service's first list in April.

When it comes to what Season 2 of "Dead To Me" will look like, show creator Liz Feldman told Entertainment Weekly, "I will say is that it will be about the further exploration of this friendship, and relationship, and now very complicated dynamic, or even more complicated dynamic between these two women."

She continued, "But in the most basic way, the score has been evened. What I wanted to do was create a situation where they’re forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of Season 1."
