New ‘Among Us’ Mod Lets Players Revive Slain Crewmates – How To Play

InnerSloth’s “Among Us” continues to be one of the best, most popular multiplayer games on different platforms. It lets four to 10 players play a fun, colorful, online version of hide and seek, without anybody knowing who’s “it.” Still, despite the already fun gameplay, players are looking for more ways to make it more exciting.

YouTuber Socksfor1 recently posted a video where he played a brand new mod that adds a new “Doctor” role to “Among Us.” This new role effectively changes how the game is played entirely and makes it harder for the Impostor to slay all the Crewmates.

Here’s how the new mod plays out:

First, players start a game just like a regular round of “Among Us.” Players can customize how their blob of an avatar looks like, complete with pets and accessories. They can use any name and pick any color that they want.

Next, as per usual, the game will assign roles at random, but instead of naming a maximum of two Impostors and eight Crewmates, the game will assign one player to take on the role of the Doctor.

The Doctor does not perform any tasks, like the Impostor. But unlike the deadly character, the Doctor’s main goal in every round is to revive slain Crewmates whenever he or she finds their dead bodies lying on the ground.

The Doctor plays on the side of the Crewmates. His main task is to revive dead bodies before they are reported to the group so that the revived Crewmate can continue working on the tasks in an attempt to finish the round and defeat the Impostor.

There’s one major rule that needs to be implemented with every round: revived Crewmates must never disclose who the Impostor is. They can, however, talk about the Impostor if they see him kill another player. They can tell other players who the Doctor is when they join meetings, but they must never reveal who slew their character in the game.

Impostors can kill the Doctor in an attempt to make it more difficult for players to survive rounds. Impostors, however, will not know who the Doctor is until they are revealed by the other players.

Socksfor1 didn’t provide a link to the mod, but it will likely be made available for players in the future. ScreenRant noted that gamers who wish to play using the mod will each need to download and install the mod on their platforms.
