  • A leak claims Apple has new products to ship
  • These are believed to include a new Intel-powered iMac refresh
  • It may also include the AirTags and AirPods Studio

A leaker claims that Apple is “ready to ship” some new products, though which products exactly were not revealed.

Twitter leaker L0vetodream, whose leaks come in the form of “dreams,” recently posted a cryptic tweet, claiming, “in my dream some products are ready to ship.” The leaker, however, doesn't provide details regarding what products these are.

Considering the leaker's reputation for sharing details about Apple's products and devices, the tweet is likely to be referring to the Cupertino firm's upcoming products. One particular device that pops up in Twitter threads responding to the leak is a new iMac.

Apple was previously expected to announce a new iMac refresh during WWDC, but it didn't. Instead, the company announced that it is shifting Macs away from Intel chips to its own in-house silicon.

But that announcement didn't necessarily mean that it won't manufacture Intel-powered Macs anymore. Apple, in fact, said there are new Intel-powered Macs in the pipeline and that it will continue to provide support for Macs running on Intel chips “for years to come.”

Upcoming Intel-powered Mac

Recently, Geekbench test results revealed that a new iMac sporting a new Intel chip is in development. The new iMac uses an Intel Core i9-10910 processor, which is believed to be a component specially made for Apple.

Tom's Hardware looked at the Geekbench test results and noted that the new Core i9-10910 has 28.6% higher base clock speed compared to the Core i9-10900, which has 2.8 GHz base clock speed. The Core i9-10910, however, has a slower boost clock compared to the Core i9-10900, which has a 5.2 GHz boost clock speed.

The details presented in the test results indicate that the Core i9-10910 sits right between the 65W and 125W processors in the Core i9 family, which means that it could be a 95W processor. Intel doesn't have a 95W Core i9 processor in its Comet Lake portfolio, which means the new chip must have been made exclusively for Apple.

Not confirmed yet

That said, L0vetodream's leak may or may not be about the new iMac refresh. Apple is said to have worked on several products, including the rumored AirTags, AirPods Studio and more. The “products” the leaker was talking about could be any of these.
