New evidence prompts Brian Jones’ death to be re-examined
British police will review the death of Rolling Stones founder and former guitarist, Brian Jones, after receiving new information relating to his death.
Jones was 27 when he was found dead at the bottom of a swimming pool at his home in southern England 40 years ago.
An inquest recorded a verdict of death by misadventure, although rumors about the star being murdered continued.
A spokesperson for Sussex police said on Monday they had received new information about the musician's death from an investigative journalist.
These papers will be examined by Sussex Police, but it is too early to comment at this time on what the outcome will be, he said.
Known for his flamboyant attire and recreational drug excesses, Jones left the band shortly before his death.
