We are just in the first month of the year, but we are already stumbling upon significant leaks and speculations about the much-awaited iPhone SE 2. It appears that one of the most anticipated iPhone models is the low-cost budget variant but very capable iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9. A new set of leaked video and renders reveals the gorgeously designed budget iPhone.

The latest renders of iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 courtesy of OnLeaks show that the upcoming budget phone has a very similar design to the iPhone 8 with a couple of visual changes. Instead of the glossy back, we saw in the previously leaked render; the latest one reveals a frosted glass back of the compact iPhone, similar to that of the finish of iPhone 11 Pro. The Apple logo is at the center like all the iPhone 11 models.

The leaked iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 renders also match earlier reports that it might borrow the design of the iPhone 8 but with the powerful Apple A13 Bionic chip. It was the respected and reliable TFI Analyst and Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo who first reported that the new entry-level iPhone would sport almost the same design as the iPhone 8. Several reports earlier claimed that instead of the iPhone SE 2 name, Apple might call it iPhone 9, considering that it shares the design of the iPhone 8 and sits between iPhone 8 and iPhone X.

The entry-level iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 is predicted to retail at $399 and would be available in 64 GB and 128 GB variants with a red color option. Additionally, the iPhone SE 2 might unveil in the Spring of this year. Taiwan publication Digitimes earlier reported that supply chain sources claimed that Apple might release two iPhone SE 2 variants. One variant might arrive this year, and the other, presumably with a more prominent display, might arrive later in 2020 or in the early part of 2021.

Minch-Chi Kuo previously revealed that Apple might release iPhone SE 2 Pro later in 202o or early in 2021. The Digitimes report and Kuo’s prediction somehow align, with Digitimes’ bigger display iPhone SE 2 variant, presumably the iPhone SE 2 Pro Kuo is referring to. It is worth mentioning that at this point, it is too early to get excited about these details since these are not official.
